"Problems of Filipino Businessmen," an article appearing in a local Manila Daily, is authored by our Teofilo "Rex" D. Reyes, Sr. Congratulations to Manuel "Manny" de Leon. I was an LVN picture, "Higit Sa Lahat," which was adjudged best local picture of 1955 by FAMAS In addition, many individual awards went to LVN stars and technicians. Hans Menzi entertained recently for a young man who was chosen by the Business Writers Association of the Philippines as The Young Businessman of the Year. Senator Gil Puyat, acting presiding officer of the National Economic Council, was one of the speakers at the second annual conference of the Philippine Council of Science and Technology, in connection with the observance of National Technology Week. One of the guest speakers at the engineering confab which opened at the U.P. last Monday was Harry Brenn, ICA mission director. A departure on March 20 for the United States was Miguel "Long" Ortigas, vice-president of Insular Life Assurance Co. and the FGU insurance group. He will observe low-cost housing projects for the Home Financing Commission. Dr. George Lucas "Doc" Adamson's university will confer on President Magsaysay the honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities at the commencement exercises of the institution. Paul R. Parrette, until recently president and general manager of the Philippine Manufacturing Company, said "Mabuhay" as his parting word to his fellow Rotarians.
