Letters to Manila Rotary and the editors - The Rotary Balita no. 796 (May 10, 1956)
Description: page 2-3 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 775 to 799Summary: 31 de enero, 1956 Sr. Rafael Anton Lebran, Inc. 2930 Sta. RAUL E. CHURRUARIN Abogado - 14 Bramley, Johannesburg South Africa 22 February 1956 Mr. Tony Anton The Chairman, International Service Committee, Rotary Club of Manila. Dear Tony, Many thanks indeed on behalf of our President and members, for your inspiring postcard of greetings and best wishes to our club. We had our Charter dinner last September, 1955, and have increased our membership by three others since that date. Our club is small, being one of two suburban clubs which have both started within the last two years as branches of the main Johannesburg Club. I enclose a list of our members in case any of you would like to correspond with some of us who are in the same classification. I was hoping to visit Manila last year, but the trip did not materialize. However, I look forward to a visit in the near future. I spent a year in Malaya after the war, and a year in India, and have helped thro' M.R,A. to bring a new spirit between the different races. Since joining Rotary, I hope to continue doing this. I heard that a mission of statesmen from many countries was invited recently by your President Magsaysay to show the M.R.A. play "The Vanishing Island." It must have created quite a stir out there from the reports which have reached me. Wishing you every success in reaching our united goal so well expressed on your postcard. Yours in the fight for unity. (Sgd.) BASIL MORING International Chairman Rotary Club of Orange GroveItem type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
