FIRST CALL TO 1956 DISTRICT CONFERENCE Past governor Nanding Manalo, overall chairman of the 1956 District Conference to be held in Baguio next February, has issued the first invitation to all the Rotarians in the District in the following letter: Dear Fellow Rotarians: It is my privilege and pleasure to invite you to Baguio City for District 48's 1956 Annual District Conference to be held February 23 through 26, 1956. Your Baguio Host Club is making elaborate plans for your entertainment and Governor "Danding" Romualdez is mapping a full three days of Rotary that should send us all away from the plenary sessions with renewed inspiration. Come to participate in a stimulating Rotary program of addresses and forum discussions which will give us new perspectives in these troubled times. Don't forget that "Fellowship" was probably the moving factor in bringing Rotary into existence. In these days of strain, we all owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to lock the office door periodically and seek relaxation and renewed inspiration in the wholesome, happy association we find in Rotary Conferences. Come for the fellowship and dignified entertainments, delightfully enhanced by Baguio City's natural scenic beauties and invigorating climate. Informality and comfort in dress will be the rule. In inviting our fellow Rotarians we add with emphasis that the Ladies of Rotary will, indeed, be welcome to Baguio. We hope you will bring your Rotary Anns to the Conference and to this end, "Angie" Abellera and her Ladies Committee have lined up a schedule of sightseeing and entertainment that will keep the Ladies busy most of their stay in this City of Pines. From time to time, you will be given more detailed information in regard to plans. But what more do you need to make you resolve to attend than our guarantee that if you do not, you will miss one of the most memorable occasions you will ever have an opportunity to attend? That's for sure. Come and be with us. Rotarily yours, (Sgd.) F. D. "Nanding" MANALO, M.D. Conference ChairmanItem type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
