Report of meetings : May 31, 1951 / by Ernie del Rosario

By: Description: page 3 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 650 to 674Summary: Today was an outside luncheon meeting for the Rotarians. Outside luncheon dates would be more to the point. There was no meeting and the date was at "Tony" Anton's movie studio, Lebran at San Francisco del Monte, to where Rotarians and their guests motored. Luncheon was served at Lebran's giant movie set where movie stars joined the Rotarians at a succulent repast, from soup to nuts with lechon in between. "Tony" staged a two-hour program studded with stars, starlets and comedians. "Willie" Dy Buncio also brought with him some of his brightest luminaries from Royal Productions and made it a twice bigger show. It was an enjoyable two hours at Lebran and a good time was had by all, including "Ted" Hall who wanted to take home a sample of what Lebran had to offer. "After all," he explained, "when we were down at Philippine Manufacturing, 'Purico' Parrette gave us samples of his merchandise to take home." "Ted" got fined at the next meeting.
