Secretary means suggests assistance to new Rotarians
Description: page 14 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 724 to 748Summary: On 30 June last year there were approximately 374,000 Rotarians - today there are 384,000 men in Rotary. "Is Rotary in these 10,000 additional men?" Only when this question can be answered affirmatively will the full value of this extension become apparent. A large percentage of this membership increase is reflected in the 317 new Rotary clubs admitted to membership during the first 292 days of this Rotary year - better than a club per day! The remainder is the result of extension within existing clubs. Rather than take it for granted and believe that all of these new Rotarians will automatically share our interest and enthusiasm, each of us should give careful attention to making such a belief a reality. Your experience has undoubtedly shown you that some new Rotarians and new Rotary clubs take hold quickly while the enthusiasm of others develops slowly. No one method is guaranteed to stimulate enthusiasm, but here is one broad suggestion for helping to put Rotary into this year's 10,000 new members: Give those with whom you come in contact your friendly, personal interest! It is a priceless aid. Even greater time and thought need to be devoted to the assistance of new clubs. Organization and admission of a new club is just the beginning of the story. For many months to come a helping hand needs to be given by the sponsor club, special representative, district governor, and other active Rotarians of the district. How many of this year's 10,000 new men in Rotary are located in your district? Is Rotary in each of these men?
