Our Leopoldo "Polding" Rovira, Jr. was likewise present. Now attending the DRUPA international fair, paper and print exposition in Dusseldorf, Germany, is a delegation of the Filipino Printers' Association headed by Ramon Ordoveza. The achievements of the recent Philippine goodwill and trade mission to the United States were. recounted to members of the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines by Teofilo "Rex" Reyes, vice-president of the CCP. Dr. Francisco "Dalup" Dalupan was another member of the mission. We're glad that Col. Jaime "Jimmy" Velasquez is staying on as acting customs commissioner. Recently he quit in a huff but it was all due, it turned out later, to a misunderstanding. Stay on, Jimmy! At the inauguration (in San Pedro, Laguna) of the first Liberty Well, Arsenio "Arsenic" N. Luz, executive secretary of the Liberty Well Association, delivered the opening remarks. Hans Menzi was the source of some good news last week. Hans revealed that a reputable ink manufacturer in the United States may soon be manufacturing printing ink in large volume here. Dr. Mariano "Ike" Icasiano, city health officer, spewed some food for thought when he revealed that 2,690 Manilans died last year without medical attendance. Named to the committee in charge of the July 4 (independence) celebration are Teodoro "Teddy" Evangelista, president of PACU; RFC Chairman Eduardo "Danding" Romualdez, and our own president, Eugenio "Gene" Puyat. As president of the Philippine Motor Association, Benito "Ben" Legarda urged on authorities concerned the strict enforcement of a traffic rule that parked vehicles should have their red lights on. One of the delegates from the Philippines to the recent Asian Film Festival was LVN's Manuel "Manny" de Leon.
