Our cover - The Rotary Balita no. 748 (June 24, 1954)

Description: page 29 In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 724 to 748Summary: Today is the last meeting under the administration of Danding Romualdez and our next president takes over. Gene Puyat is a Manila Rotarian since 1947 and has made a spectacular career in Manila Rotary. In a short time since his induction, he made himself known to all the Rotarians by his zeal in serving in committees and his continuous interest in serving the Club. He was not long unnoticed and the Manila Rotarians knew that some day he was to be their leader. They elected him to Boards of Directors and in the last election they elevated him to the highest position in the Manila Club. From Gene Puyat it can be expected a successful Rotary year. He has a privilege and has been fortunate in being elected at a time when the name of Rotary will be spread all over the world reminding peoples of all races of the 50 years of Rotary service to mankind. But also in this Rotary year it perhaps will be required the utmost energy and constant vigilance in the interest of Rotary. This can be expected also from Gene and today at his assumption of office, we will wish him all the success and we urge all our fellow Rotarians in Manila to assist him in the service to the Club at all moments. But today we should not forget the man who so ably has conducted the affairs of the Manila Rotary Club in the past year. We cannot forget the magnificent work done by Danding Romualdez in spite of his numerous activities. He being the President, Danding will have to distribute awards and declare who has been outstanding in Rotary service in the past 12 months but he himself deserves all sorts of honors. On this day when he steps into the group of elders, he can be very proud of himself and the Club very grateful to him for his services as President.
