Welcome / by Honorable Manuel de la Fuente.
Description: page 4Subject(s): In: Rotary Club of Manila. The Rotary Balita No. 624 to 649Summary: I join the members of the Manila Rotary Club in according a warm welcome to President Percy Hodgson of the Rotary International who is arriving in Manila on the 8th instant. President Hodgson's visit will do great honor to the City of Manila, or, for that matter, to any place he will visit. He is a personality that carries with it the power of inspiration, being a man who has come from the lowest bottom and attained the top where he now is through the hard way. He was, secondarily, a lucky man, but primarily a hard worker to whom no obstacle, no matter how great, seems hard enough to overcome. He fought his battles and won, thus scaling the position of prominence as the President of Rotary International. On the members of the Manila Rotary Club, President Hodgson's visit will have far reaching effects. They will be brought closer to the international body of the organization and thereby acquire added vigor and courage towards the accomplishment of the mission and service for which the Rotary is founded. As Mayor of Manila, I am highly pleased with President Hodgson's visit and I assure him of every facility l have in my power and capacity to extend so as to make his stay enjoyable.Item type | Current library | Call number | Copy number | Status | Barcode | |
