Present Position

Chairman/CEO of the Mega Group of Computer Companies, a multinational conglomerate of 44 companies specializing in high technology systems based in the Philippines, with offices in the US, Shanghai, Buenos Aires, Singapore and Germany, active in the Middle East, South America, Australia and in the Eastern Bloc countries, either through wholly owned companies or through joint ventures.

Significant Mega Group Companies

Mega Data Corporation (which had been providing the Philippine Drivers License since 1983, and operated the National Bureau of Investigation Criminal Computer System since 1977).

Omega Computers (supplies Philippine banks and credit card companies with plastic card personalization systems for their credit and ATM cards, including EMV cards), Symbol Sciences (supplies commercial barcode scanners to Philippine retail companies including giant SM Malls)

Scantech (supplied 90% of Philippine industrial companies with industrial grade barcode scanners); Offshore Data, Home Data, DumaData, and Scanplus International (all data transcription companies servicing the needs of US based telephone directory companies, medical and legal transcription companies), JipCard Philippines (a joint venture company producing PVC cards for the credit card and bank card industries), Laser Barcode Solutions (provides custom made bar-coding solutions to the Philippine market), Geebo Digital (a 3D animation company), Xinapse (an Open Source systems development company), Mega ePrinting (provides digital short-run printing to the local market), Technical Computer Components (Clark) (a material recovery company that recovers high valued spare parts from obsolete computer systems and stocks them for users of these systems), IT Convergence (which provides Oracle consultants to Fortune 500 companies)

ROM Gaming (operated lottery companies in Romania from 1994-2009) 888 Electronic Gaming, and 165 Gaming, (operated lotto companies in Cambodia) GELOTO (operated LOTTO operations in Equatorial Guinea) Mega Gaming Corporation (Developed and operated Off-Fronton betting terminals for the Cagayan Valley Jai A’Lai) Agilivant Philippines Corporation (operates a money remittance system for OFW remittances to the Philippines) BTI Payments Inc (a joint venture company with a leading Australian firm, Banktech, that provides state of the art ATM’s to Philippine banks)

Personal Circumstances

My wife, Minda Acacio Garcia, is active in the Soroptimists International movement, which concentrates on the improvement of the lives of women and girls. She has been a Past President of the Founder-Manila Chapter, and a member of the International Fund Development Council based in Philadelphia. She is the Immediate Past Regional Governor for the whole Philippine Region for SY 2012-2014. She is now a member of the Fund Raising Committee of Soroptimists International based in Philadelphia.

We have four children: Susanna (Nana) married to Nick Guzman; Ma. Antonia Romina married to Paul Narth; Rafael IV married to Djoanna Pineda; Ana Maria Katrina married to Paolo Diaz; and eight grandchildren: Mariel, Manuel, & Marcel Guzman; Kieron Narth; Rafael P. Garcia V; Santino, Andrea, & Giselle Diaz
