Welcome message

On behalf of all members of Rotary Club of Bangkok, it is my great honor and pleasure to welcome Rotarians, families and friends to our 85th Anniversary Celebration. The Rotary Club of Bangkok is the first Rotary Club to be established in Thailand. Since our first meeting on September 17, 1930 at Phaya Thai Palace, with 69 founding members from 15 nationalities, we are very proud of our long and successful journey as a Rotary Club. For 85 years, we continue to uphold Rotary Ideals while serving our communities with many service projects every year. It has been a wonderful journey because of the hard work and never-stop contributions of all our Past Presidents and members.

As the 85th President of Rotary Club of Bangkok and being the first Japanese President of our club, I am so honored to celebrate this special year with you all. Thank you so much for joining us and thereby making this such a special occasion.

Yours in Rotary, Chiemi Svensson, President, Rotary Club of Bangkok 2015-2016
