President’s Corner

Last week, our very own Rtn. Joaquin “Jack” Rodriguez gave us an interesting glimpse on the untold stories behind the powers that be during the ‘70’s to ‘80’s era to the delight of an engaged crowd at our weekly luncheon meeting.

As for updates within our club, our IPDG Obet Pagdanganan made a pitch for our Centennial Celebration at the 2016 Bangkok Rotary Institute from December 1-4, 2016 in Thailand. This was to jumpstart awareness of our centennial celebration as the first Rotary Club in Asia. Likewise, practices and Christmas carolings of our World Famous Chorale is now underway, one of the very reasons which make us proud as Manila Rotarians.

Updates from around the district include the participation of IPDG Obet Pagdanganan and DGN Rudy Bediones at the 2016 Bangkok Rotary Institute from December 1-4, 2016 in Thailand where our very own IPDG Obet Pagdanganan was recognized for having had the highest in net membership during the Rotary Year 2016-2016 while our very own DGN Rudy Bediones underwent training with his fellow DGN’s. A day after, December 5, 2016, IPDG Obet Pagdanganan, DGN Rudy Bediones, CoS Cesar Ubaldo and SDG/DCoS/Dir. Albert Alday attended the District Christmas Party 2016 at the Le Parc Event Hall in Pasay City. This event was hosted by the Rotary Club of Manila Centennial. The next day, December 6, 2016, CoS Cesar Ubaldo attended the Launching of the “On to Atlanta” Rotary International Convention at The Heritage Hotel Manila in Pasay City while IPDG Obet Pagdanganan and DGN Rudy Bediones attended the World Class Presidents Christmas Party at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

Today, it’s time for us to reflect on the reason for the season and celebrate the fellowship as Manila Rotarians with our Annual Christmas Fellowship as both the Repertory Philippines and our World Famous Chorale serenade us with the hymns of Christmas.

I look forward to your cooperation as we endeavor to make our stars shine this Rotary Year 2016-2017 through meaningful projects and fellowships that will strengthen the bonds of Asia’s First Rotary Club.

A Blessed Christmas to and to joys of the Yuletide season to one and all in the service of Rotary!
