May 24, 2018

Former National Security Adviser and Former Parañaque Representative PVP Roy Golez delivered a lecture on the South China Sea/West Philippine Sea before Master in National Security Administration students at the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Members of the Rotary Club of Manila clad in white undershirt, jeans and dark blue blazer undertook an audiovisual shoot for the centennial of the club on the stairs of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City.

The Club Awards Committee met at the Jasmine Restaurant of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City. Present were (clockwise) PP Francis Juico, Dir. Caloy Reyes, PDG Alex Cureg, Chairman IPAT Hermie Esguerra, and VP Chito Zaldarriaga.

The World Famous Chorale held a choir practice at the Glasshouse of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City. The purpose was to rehearse the songs to be sung during the inaugural of PE/Dir. Susing Pineda and the induction of the Board of Directors for RY 2018-2019.

The Monthly Meeting of the Board of Directors for RY 2017-2018 was held at the Gallery 1 of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City.

The Planning Session for the Dinner in Honor of 2018-2019 Rotary International President Barry Rassin was held at the Gallery 1 of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City.

DGE Rudy Bediones attended the DISTAS 2018 Committee Meeting at the Copacabana Hotel in Pasay City.

The Board of Directors and Executive Officers for RY 2018-2019 attended the District Training Assembly 2018 (DISTAS 2018) at the Heritage Hotel Manila in Pasay City.

A luncheon meeting in preparation for the dinner in honor of Rotary International President-Elect Barry Rassin which will be held on July 19, 2018 was hosted by PE/Dir. Susing Pineda at the coffee shop of The Heritage Hotel Manila in Pasay City. Present during the meeting were RIDE Raffy Garcia, DGE Rudy Bediones, PDG Obet Pagdanganan, PDG Alex and Lady Anna Cureg, PDG Edmond Aguilar, IPP William Uy of the Rotary Club of Chinatown Manila, PE/Dir. DGE Rudy and Lady Sharon Bediones attended the Advance Birthday Celebration of IDS Vilma Vinluan at the Music 21 Plaza Family KTV in Pasay City.

I hosted a Welcome Dinner for the Rotary Club of New Orleans and the Cheer Up Missions, Inc. at my residence in Pacific Village, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Former National Security Adviser and Former Parañaque Representative PVP Roy Golez was interviewed by Tita Imee and Mayumi over DWWW regarding his advocacy for LAWFARE as a weapon of war against China. He likewise added that we should assert our victory in the Hague against China and that our government should file a diplomatic protest against China’s militarization in order for us to stand up against China’s bullying ways.

The Rotary Club of Manila hosted lunch for the Rotary Club of New Orleans last at the Chairman’s Dining Room of the Ayala Alabang Country Club in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Present were PE/Dir. Susing Pineda, DE/Dir. Caloy Reyes, IPSDG/IPDCoS/DE/IPD Albert Alday, Treasurer Nicky Villaseñor, AS Rene Policarpio, AT Ner Lonzaga, PD Nick Locsin, PE Peter Waring (Rotary Club of New Orleans), Rtn. Heather Kirk (Rotary Club of New Orleans), Patricia Solar (spouse of Rotary Club of New Orleans PE Peter Waring) and I.

In behalf of the Rotary Club of Manila, I signed a sisterhood agreement with the Rotary Club of New Orleans represented by PE Peter Waring. This historic signing took place at the Chairman’s Dining Room of the Ayala Alabang Country Club in Ayala Alabang Village, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. On hand to witness the signing from the Rotary Club of Manila were PE/Dir. Susing Pineda, DE/Dir. Caloy Reyes, IPSDG/IPDCoS/DE/IPD Albert Alday, Treasurer Nicky Villaseñor, AS Rene Policarpio, AT Ner Lonzaga, PD Nick Locsin and Rtn. Cris Acosta while from the Rotary Club of New Orleans, Rtn. Heather Kirk and Patricia Solar (spouse of PE Peter Waring). As a gesture of goodwill, I handed tokens of appreciation to the members of the Rotary Club of New Orleans while the members of the Rotary Club of New Orleans handed over a fleur de lys crystal trophy, a fitting symbol of New Orleans itself. For their part, the Rotary Club of New Orleans invited members of the Rotary Club of Manila to visit them.

DGE Rudy Bediones attended the Breakfast Meeting regarding the 15th Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference at the Sports Cafe of the Manila Polo Club in Makati City. Present were RIDE Raffy Garcia, DRFC PDG Edmond Aguilar, APRRC Chair PDRR Alexis Tan and DRR Lyza Bulosan.

The World Famous Chorale held a choir practice at the W Global Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig for the purpose of practice the three songs which they will sing for PE/Dir. Susing Pineda during the Induction Ceremonies of the Rotary Club of Manila. Their choir master is Prof. Domino Marcos.

PE/Dir. Susing Pineda held a final meeting with Manila Rotarians involved in the organization and program of the Induction Ceremonies of the Rotary Club of Manila at the JMP Building in Ugong, Pasig City. Aside from his events team and Rotaractors, Manila Rotarians present were PP Benny Laguesma, VP Chito Zaldarriaga, IPSDG/IPDCoS/DE/IPD Albert Alday and Treasurer Nicky Villaseñor.

Jess Falcis and Meanne Los Baños on BOLJAK over TV5 Radio TV and Radyo Singko regarding the need to file a diplomatic protest against China for their militarization of the South China Sea.

Former National Security Adviser and Former Parañaque Representative PVP Roilo Golez was interviewed by Ray Orosa on Heartbeat Live over Global News Network. He highlighted China’s plan to establish a Strategic Triangle to gain full control of the South China Sea, which is a grave threat to our national security. The Strategic Triangle has been a part of his lectures on the South China Sea since February 2015 or more than three years ago. This concept was concretized in January 2015 in Tokyo during an international security workshop hosted by Japan. The plan of China is to establish military bases in Woody Island, the first point of the Triangle, then in the Spratlys’ artificial islands, including Mischief Reef. The third is Scarborough Shoal which China seized in 2012. The third point is still in the planning stages. He added that this is a grave threat to our national security.

ISDG/PSDG/PAG/PP Frank Evaristo joined his Best Class President classmates led by their district governor, PDG Edmond Aguilar, in Dumaguete City where they donated school supplies to 400 school children in the city. No less than Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo was on hand to receive and witness this.
