Invocation by PD Beda Fajardo
PD Beda Fajardo’s invocation at the August 23, 2018 club luncheon meeting, which Chief Justice Reynato Puno addressed.

August 23, 2018 Club Luncheon Meeting
Let us bow our heads together and pray in supplication.

Dear Almighty God we thank you for blessing us this afternoon with the opportunity of having with us no less than Chief Justice Reynato Puno, the Chair of the Presidential Consultative Committee which drafted the proposed Federal form of government, to hear from him and exchange ideas on the proposed amendments drafted by his committee. Please enlighten us as we consider the proposals in resolving the following amendment issues: (1) Whether there is reason to amend the 1987 Constitution now. (2) If so, whether there is need to change the present form of government into federal. (3) Whether there are needed amendments outside the proposals drafted by the Committee. with the ultimate end in mind of improving the present state of affairs in our country particularly the miserable conditions of our poor breathen with sincere and doable solutions.
Our Almighty God please also teach us on how to observe the centennial of the Rotary Club of Manila with meaningful projects and activities more geared to nation-building remembering that the history of the Rotary Club of Manila from its birth in 1919 up to the present is also the history of the growth of our country from a U.S. colony into a Republic and up to the present where the construction of the national edifice the Filipinos have dreamed and hoped for is still unfinished. What would be a more memorable and lasting centennial celebration?

Please further enlighten us all to observe Rotary’s 4-way test with all the seriousness and importance that it truly deserves as the 4-way test does not apply only to our Rotary life but can be applied to our daily life as well as an article of faith; and make us realize that the 4-way test incorporates the basic human virtues of truthfulness, trustworthiness, sincerity, honesty, humility, and fairness in our dealings with family, kins, and fellowmen-high and low, friends and strangers which would make for a society that respects and protects the God given dignity in every human being.
Last but not least Dear Lord Jesus bless our speaker with good health so that he will continue his service to his country at this critical times. Amen.
