Sari-Saring Aralan
Latest Update: The Memorandum of Agreement between the Rotary Club of Manila and Ayala Foundation, Inc., was signed last September 20, 2018 at the Ballroom of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City. This signalled the formal launch of the “Sari-Saring Aralan” project in cooperation with Grameen Australia Philippines Inc. and the City of Manila led by Mayor Joseph M. Ejercito Estrada.
The committee in charge of this laudable and innovative project is chaired by President Susing Pineda and co-chaired by PAT Hermie Esguerra, who were both signatories to the Memorandum of Agreement in behalf of the Rotary Club of Manila while Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan and Senior Director for Programs Joanna Duarte were the signatories in behalf of Ayala Foundation, Inc. Club Secretary Alvin Lacambacal signed as witness. Right after the signing of the agreement, Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan briefed Manila Rotarians on the project. A Php 500,000.00 check had already been issued last May 30, 2018 during the Induction Ceremonies of the Rotary Club of Manila to jumpstart this project.
Rotary Club of Manila Centennial Chorale Competition
Latest Update: The Steering Committee held a meeting with the District Governors of the different Rotary districts in the Philippines. Present were PP Ronald Patena (representative of DG Celso Cruz for District 3770), DG Rudy Bediones (District 3810), DG Jose Boy Garcia (District 3820), PDG Jaime Cura (representative of DG Al Montecillo for District 3830) and DG Benjamin Garcia (District 3860).
BLA Amading Valdez discussed the concept on choral competition where he said that it aids to galvanize the youth’s resolve to a national consciousness for service and sacrifice for country and humanity with the theme: “BE AN INSPIRATION -THE FILIPINO YOUTH SERVING THE COMMUNITY THE ROTARY WAY FOR THE NEXT ONE HUNDRED YEARS”. He explained the mechanics where the elimination shall be staged by the Department of Education coinciding with their own National Festival of Talents nationwide. Further, he reemphasized the participation of all Rotary Districts which include providing the DepEd voluntary assistance, moral or financial, in holding the eliminations in the following geographical areas comprising Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Metro Manila I and Metro Manila II, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, etc, that shall fall under their respective districts. Complete guidelines and criteria will be forwarded by “A Legacy of Rotary Service” Chair BLA Amading Valdez to all the District Governors, by the end of the week.
A Legacy of Rotary Service
Latest update: The ROTARY SUCCESS STORIES will form part of the program for A LEGACY OF ROTARY SERVICE. Each ROTARY DISTRICT shall submit two to three of their best service projects to be among the choices for the award on the Best Success Project on June 21, 2019. 100 Years of Rotary: An Art Celebration
Latest Update: Pres Susing Pineda said that reports on the success of the Art Exhibit will be discussed on the next Steering Committee Meeting.
Seeds of Change by Rotary Club of Manila
Latest Update: Co-Chair BLA Amading Valdez explained to Megaworld Chair Andrew Tan last September 21, 2018 during the birthday of Honorary Member Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo at Dasmariñas Village, Makati City, the Tree Planting Project at Entertainment City in Parañaque City.
