Updates on Centennial Projects

Committee meetings held November 15 and 19, 2018 on the Coffee Table Book, Chorale Competition, Legacy of Rotary Service, Centennial Awards and Heart for Little Angels.

Rotary Club of Manila Coffee Table Book

Latest Update: The Rotary Club of Manila Coffee Table Book Committee conducted a brief meeting last November 15, 2018 at the Lounge of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City where the committee reviewed printed manuscripts (Chapters 1 to 4) with complete layout submitted by author PDG Chit Lijauco. Present were DE/BLA Amading Valdez, President Susing Pineda, PP Boy Ampil, Rtn. Tong Payumo, Rtn. Manny Blanco and PT Jun Follosco.

Rotary Club of Manila Centennial Chorale Competition

Latest Update: The Rotary Club of Manila Centennial Chorale Competition Committee held a meeting last November 19, 2018 at the Dolce Latte in Quezon City. The meeting was hosted by Rtn. John Emyl Eugenio. Budget, accommodations and logistics for the competition were thoroughly discussed. Present were Rtn. Emyl Eugenio, PD Oscar del Rosario, DE/BLA Amading Valdez, President Susing Pineda, Rtn. Willie Peliño and PP Teddy Ocampo.

A Legacy of Rotary Service

Latest Update: The Committee on “A Legacy of Rotary Service” met last November 19, 2018 at the Dolce Latte in Quezon City. The meeting was hosted by Rtn. John Emyl Eugenio. The committee discussed the budget, the ways and means to achieve the budget, the accommodations for the winners of both the chorale competition and the centennial awards, the creation of the different sub-committees and who will head each of them as well as their respective members, the souvenir program, the protocol to be followed, the house committee and the logistics involved for the entire day. Present were Rtn. Emyl Eugenio, PD Oscar del Rosario, DE/BLA Amading Valdez, President Susing Pineda, Rtn. Willie Peliño, Secretary-General Rtn. Romy Nones and PP Teddy Ocampo.

Centennial Awards (under A Legacy of Rotary Service)

Latest Update: The Centennial Awards Committee held a meeting last November 15, 2018 at the Ballroom of the New World Makati Hotel in Makati City. Chairman PDG Alex Cureg requested the members of the committee to submit their comments on the criteria for selection not later than November 20, 2018. Thereafter, the finalized criteria would be sent together with a cover letter to the District Governors of the various districts in the Philippines by November 22, 2018. It is expected that by January 2019, the three winners from each of the districts will have been submitted and an extension of not more than 15 days may be given should the District Governors request. By April 30, 2019, the winners would have already been selected.

Rotary’s Heart for Little Angels

Latest Update: Rtn. Zdenek Jankovsky made sure that Liam and Amer underwent surgery with all expenses taken cared of. The two children are now on the way to recovery after the surgery at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). He has submitted to the Board, the new procedures for the project which are now for approval. He is likewise working with PGH on the setting up of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Once everything has been settled, fundraising can now be undertaken. Likewise, once the rules are approved by the Board, the same can be disseminated to the members of the club.
