President’s Corner

Dear Fellow Manila Rotarians,

Last week, we were enlightened on the advantages of social networking and social media with an out-of-the-box way of presenting Facebook to all of us by no less than its Country Director, Mr. John Rubio. Indeed, his presentation, indirectly, taught us how to deal with the ever growing millenial mindset.

In the International Relations front, I wish to congratulate our Rotary Club of Manila delegations to both the 49th Anniversary Fund Raising Ball of the Rotary Club of Kowloon East and the 70th Charter Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Taipei. Your attendance at these occasions, presented, not only, unique opportunities for Rotarians from our sister clubs to join us in our centennial culminating activities, but, likewise, created avenues to foster lasting goodwill with Rotarians from around the world.

In the Fellowship front, the much awaited occasion of the year is at our doorsteps. In this regard, I wish to announce that our Christmas Party will take place on December 13, 2018, 6:00 pm at the Grand Ballroom 3, Coral Wing Lobby of OKADA MANILA in Parañaque City. For Php 2,500.00 you get the chance to enjoy a sumptuous dinner and the privilege to dance the night away to the music of Marcy David and his Band while having the chance to win exciting raffle prizes donated by our members. Let us all attend and share Christmas cheers with everyone as a break from our busy centennial year.

In the Centennial projects front, updates on our various projects will be discussed in detail today during our RCM Town Hall Meeting as it is our mandate to apprise our members of what is happening and how they can participate towards the success of these endeavors. Today, we take a break from our speakers’ row and tackle important matters pertaining to our club as we approach our centennial culminating activities. Rest assured, your voice on these matters will be held with high regard as the success of all our undertakings are anchored on your whole-hearted support.

Undoubtedly, these are colossal undertakings entailing our unwavering commitment in furtherance of Service Above Self. Indeed, great things in Rotary are never done by a single individual, but, by a team of Rotarians, moving together towards a common goal. Under ONE CENTURY, towards ONE MISSION and in furtherance of ONE ROTARY, the best is yet to come. Let us all BE THE INSPIRATION in all that we do as we continue to adhere to the fundamentals of Rotary in living our everyday lives.
