Recognition of key personalities who have made waves in the Tourism Industry takes centerstage as we stage one of the most coveted awards of Asia’s First Rotary Club.

The 15th TOURISM AWARDS takes place today, May 23, 2019. The Tourism Awards Committee is headed by Chair/DE/ Dir. Bobby Joseph together with Co-Chair/ PP Francis Juico. Its members are DE/BLA Amading Valdez and PD Abe Pascual. The committee is pleased to present this year’s AWARDEES:

Tourism Awardees for RY 2018-2019

1. Rotary Club of Manila Past Director, Oscar del Rosario, Sr.- Founder– Lilim Forest Reserve. Category: Farm Tourism. For conserving Lilim Forest into a place for local tourists thus developing further the market for local tourism.

2. Rtn Felicito C. Payumo, Founder – Sinagtala Resort. Category: Farm Tourism. For creating an international standard resort thus enhancing local tourism and developing the economy of local government leading, therefore enhancing local tourism.

3. Rtn Jesli A. Lapus – Chairman & Founder, AIM-Dr/ Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism. Category: AIM – International Business Education Tourism for tireless efforts in pursuing sustainable tourism through knowledge creation, raising awareness on how the travel and tourism industry contribute to the promotion of Philippine tourism, ultimately to economic growth of the Philippine nation.

4. Dr. Jikyeong Kang, President-AIM; Advisor-AIM Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism. Category: AIM- International Business Education Tourism for efficiently sustaining the objectives of AIM-DR. ANDREW L. TAN CENTER for tireless efforts in pursuing sustainable tourism through knowledge-creation, raising awareness on how the travel and tourism industry contribute to the promotion of Philippine tourism, ultimately to economic growth of the Philippine nation.

5. Dr. Andrew L. Tan – Founder, Chairman & President – Megaworld Corporation. Category: Integrated Tourism. Represented by: Mr. Kevin Andrew L. Tan. CEO, Alliance Global Group Inc. In recognition of your support to the AIM-DR. ANDREW L. TAN CENTER in its tireless efforts in pursuing sustainable tourism through knowledge creation, raising awareness on how the travel and tourism industry contribute to the promotion of Philippine tourism, ultimately to economic growth of the Philippine nation.

6. Mr Antonio Meloto- Founder , Paraiso farm. Category: Social Tourism. In recognition of your untiring efforts to emancipate the urban poor thru the concept of Gawad Kalinga home living and the farmer to become successful farmer entrepreneur, thus mitigating urban migration thru Paraiso Farm concept, by actively campaigning for farm owners to practice Corporate Social Investment (CSI) to invigorate of agri tourism

7. Dr. Mina Gabor, Founder and President -International School of Sustainable Tourism. Category: Sustainable and Farm Tourism. In recognition of your efforts in promoting Philippine tourism thus providing tourism and economic growth for the Philippines.

7. Ms. Teresita Sy-Coson -Vice Chair- SM Investments. Category: Kultura Shopping Tourism. Represented by: Mr Paul Arcenas, Vice President- SM Investments Planning & Corporate Communication. In recognition of the phenomenal success of SM Shopping mall concept, that has attracted not only local but likewise foreign tourists, thus promoting Philippine economy and tourism.

7. Mr. Frederick D. Go – President, Robinson Land Corporation. Category: Affordable Local Hotel Chain. In recognition of rapid development of Go Hotels, a new hotel concept for affordable living without sacrificing quality service and accommodation, that has attracted local and international tourists to the Philippines, thereby promoting Philippine tourism.

10. Ms Cynthia L. Carrion – Chairman / CEO - Corregidor Foundation Inc. Category: Heritage Tourism. In recognition of your outstanding undertakings for preserving the heritage, protection of Corregidor environment, converting the Corregidor into a most sought heritage site for local and international tourists, resulting to the promotion of Philippine tourism, ultimately to economic growth of the Philippine nation.

11. Hon, Roy A. Cimatu Secretary – Department of Environment & Natural Resources. Category: Sustainable Tourism. Represented by: Undersecretary Sherwin Rigor. Saved Boracay, tourism premier designation and clean up of Manila Bay.

12. Hon. Eduardo M. Ano – Secretary, Department of Interior & Local Government. Category: Sustainable Tourism. Represented by : Undersecretary Epimaco V. Densing, III

13. Hon. Cynthia A. Villar – Philippines House of Senate. Category: Ecotourism. In recognition of support extended to agriculture, as senator- being one of the first to pass agri-related bills, as Mrs. Hanep Buhay, crafted laws that protected the livelihood of farmers, fishermen and development and promotion of farm tourism all leading to the promotion of economic growth for the Philippines and attracted local tourism. Saved Boaracay, tourism premier destination; by providing manpower and logistical support leading to the successful cleanup of Boracay Island and sustained efforts to restore the beauty of Manila Bay,
