President’s Corner

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

We had a very good meeting last week with the amazing city planner cum architect Felino “Jun” Palafox. Jun has shown us what we can be as a city and as a country. Many of us were completely taken aback by the beautiful renditions shown to us by our beloved guest of honor, Rotarian Jun. AMAZING!!! to say the least! We had a great time. Today, we shall relax a bit with the presence of the country’s beauties who will each say a few words of wisdom. Led by my granddaughter, Katarina, last year’s Miss World Philippines and Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017. Today, Katarina is the Ambassador to SAVE THE CHILDREN and is still active in supporting One Rotary One Philippines One for Marawi. She has spoken in several United Nations Youth Peace Conferences. She is accompanied by the beautiful and intelligent winners of this year’s Miss World Philippines pageantry.

The club is very busy preparing for the grand speaking engagement of the Ambassador of Spain to our club on the 17th of October. Do not miss this. This Spanish Ambassador is proud of his PINOY blood and promises a great day for us. And WOW!!!! The 24th of October is another great day as well for our luncheon meeting at the Manila Hotel. US Ambassador Sung Kim will deliver his valedictory in front of the Rotary Clubs. We are expecting at least 500 in attendance to wish the USA Ambassador farewell.

I welcome today our beloved VP with the happiness for his wellness. We HAIL you HERMIE!!!! I also would like to congratulate and welcome PE BOBBY and his winning team. We shall work together, Bobby, for THE ROTARY ENVIRONMENT AWARD, THE ROTARY BEST ATHLETE AWARD and THE ROTARY NATIONAL LEADER AWARD. Let us do this. And as we have continued with the great program of REAP, we shall likewise continue, all the good programs we have started such as T.R.E.E.S., THE AMBASSADOR OF GOODWILL PROGRAM, ONE ROTARY, HEARTS FOR LITTLE ANGELS, HOSPICIO DE SAN JOSE as well as our club’s outreach program to all other Rotary clubs.

Best, Jackie
