President’s Corner
President Bobby Joseph announces the August guest of honor, the Rotaract turnover, collaboration on cancer patient aid, accounting reforms and the retirement of Emmanuel “Ching” Salazar after 36 years.
Dear Colleagues in RCM,
Welcome to the fifth meeting this July 2020! May your wishes come true and may you continue to sustain your vim, vigor and vitality.
Our special guest of honor on the third (3rd) week of August is none other than Past Director Phillip Ong who has been doing outreach programs on his initiatives with RCM and other collaborators. Philip is nearly raising Php 6 Million for his cerebral palsy project for Hospicio de San Jose which will soon be inaugurated. He will be with a representative of Hospicio de San Jose.
Thanks to the efforts of PP Jimmie Policarpio for the tents and chairs needed outside the hospital because of the overflowing patients and visitors in PGH.
On Aug 1, 2020, I will have the opportunity to be the guest of honor of Rotaract Club of Manila for their turnover of officials. I will take this opportunity to know more about their programs and projects and see how we can work with them actively.
Last Sunday, July 26,2020, I was in San Jose, Batangas at the Paraiso Social Tourism Village Farm. During my visit, I was introduced to Sukau, Director of Natural Green GMBH who is establishing a Green Factory using local materials that can help protect our soil to be healthy without the use of chemicals and how to increase our productivity in agriculture. The produce will be exported abroad and distributed locally. I am looking forward to having him as our guest speaker next month.
We shall be collaborating with some Rotary Clubs in District 3810 to help some needy cancer patients. No funds will be used from the club.
I would like to thank Treasurer Karlo Castro and his members, Assistant Treasurers Marcus Dee and Jujut Enriquez, who are working hard to streamline the accounting system, hiring a staff instead of outsourcing which will be more efficient and reliable. A separate report is being prepared and will be made ready for the information of all.
We shall be retiring Emmanuel “Ching” L. Salazar who has served us well for 36 years and another is taking over who has extensive experience in Rotary since 1992.
I an likewise looking forward to our joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Cebu for the Grant Program on the second (2nd) Thursday of August. Technical Meeting was held last Monday July 27, 2020 with IPP Jackie Rodriguez, Star Rtn. Toby Rast (our Technical Host) and the Rotary Club of Cebu Team.
Wishing everyone the best of health, happiness, prosperity and stronger bonds with family, friends and the Rotary community.
