President’s Corner
President Joseph welcomes Ambassador Romualdez to the 20th Membership Meeting and announces a fundraising for cancer-stricken children at the Philippine General Hospital.
Good afternoon Fellow Rotarians,
Please welcome, His Excellency Jose Manuel "Babe" G. Romualdez, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the United States of America, as our Guest of Honor and Speaker on this, the 20th Membership Meeting of the Rotary Club of Manila, this noon via Zoom platform.
For the information of our guests, Babe is an outstanding member of RCM. He has garnered many friends in Washington, D.C. and all over the States. He works hard to strengthen our relationship with the United States of America in the areas of commerce, culture, science, education, migration, labor and employment, tourism, military and others. We are proud and honored to be a friend of Ambassador Babe. We admire his loyalty and patriotism. Babe is a fine gentleman and an incredibly caring, helpful person. Welcome once again.
Last week, I was hospitalized because of a new cancer-target medication. This is a usual occurrence for someone who is battling stage 4 cancer for 13 years. I was discharged after staying two days in the hospital. The worst part was that upon reaching home, I felt some side effects and my family had to rush me back to the hospital. I was confined again and went through some more tests and changes in my routine for another two days. I am feeling much better now. Thank you for all your prayers and concern. Please take care of your health. Nothing is more important than your health and well-being.
We are happy to launch another fundraising for the benefit of the cancer-stricken children at the Philippine General Hospital. We are encouraging all members to support this charitable project. We hope to help as many beneficiaries as possible in the Glory of God, the Almighty.
Please identify other outreach projects you wish to undertake and suggest some corporate sponsors whom you can influence so RCM can write to them on your behalf for financial support. Some may donate in kind, such as medicines, vitamins, crutches, wheelchairs and others.
We have to keep on giving and sharing. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
