PDG Rodolfo “Rudy” P. Bediones

Rodolfo “Rudy” P. Bediones, is the 2nd of 9 siblings. His father was a lawyer and his mother an English teacher (both deceased). He finished high school at Don Bosco Makati and got his college degree in business management at the De La Salle University. Rudy, as he is called by friends, has three children and one grandson. He is married to the former Sharon Hughes, who is a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Manila.
He is the President of Hughes Builders, a company engaged in construction and property development, specializing in the construction of townhouses, single-detached residential units as well as low-rise condominium projects. He has been in the construction business since 1987.
His involvement in civic work started in 1979 and in 2001 he became a member of the Rotary Club of Manila. In the ensuing years he was appointed to various positions in the club; eventually elected as its 94th president in Rotary Year 2013-14. He received more than 50 District Awards in Rotary Year 2013-14. Among the notable achievements during his term were:
1. Received the Award for ALL TIME GIVING to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) for attaining US$1,004,110.88.
2. Got thirty (30) members of his club to be Paul Harris Fellows and two (2) Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.
3. In soliciting for donations for the victims of the typhoons that struck the country in 2013, he achieved the largest aggregate donation ever received by the Club in its history by raising the total amount of P27 Million. The donations were used to purchase and donate to the fishermen of Ormoc, Leyte 100 fiberglass motorized boats, over 30 wooden motorized boats for the province of Capiz, 1,000 solar powered lamps, 80 housing units donated to the typhoon victims through Gawad Kalinga, and a P7,000,000 donation for their livelihood projects.
He achieved Perfect Attendance in Club meetings in seven (7) straight years. He was awarded the Rotarian of the Year in 2016 and was recently appointed as National Coordinator of Rotary Inter-Country Committee Germany-Philippines.
His active involvement in the District afforded him the chance to serve in different positions, such as:
1. Assistant Governor for the Manila Area for Rotary Year 2014-15
2. Member of the District 3810 Training Team which conducts lectures on various Rotary topics during the President-Elect Training Seminar and other District seminars
3. District Chief of Staff to World Class Governor Roberto “Obet” Pagdanganan
4. Chair - District Conference (DISCON 2016)
5. Committee Chair - Rotary International Awards
6. Chair – DISCON 2016 Awards Committee
7. Trustee – The Rotary Street-children Foundation
As District Governor-Nominee he attended the Zone Institute Seminar in Bangkok, Thailand in 2016 and as District Governor-Elect the Zone Institute Seminar in Taipei, Taiwan in 2017. He also completed the 6-day Seminar at the Rotary International Assembly in San Diego, California in January 2018. He was the Governor of District 3810 in Rotary Year 2018-2019.
