President’s Corner

President Bobby Joseph reports on the fund turned over for PVP Lance Masters’ surgery, the donated COVID-19 test kits, the Mushroom to Classroom and Baryanihan projects, and the MOA with JCI Makati.

Dear Colleagues in RCM,

Congratulations Dir. Celso Abastillas and Rtn. Karl Leung for a very informative and interesting presentation last February 11, 2021 during our weekly meeting. All of our speakers who are RCM members are leaders in their own rights and will always have more to share. Our meetings are getting interesting as more will be tapped in the weeks to come. Feel free to volunteer and suggest. Let us all participate. In fact, we urge everyone to encourage one member to join the Zoom meetings.

We just turned over Php 253,008.11 to PVP Lance Masters for his surgery. Thank you to all the members who participated in the fundraising. The operation was a great success. Thank you PDG Rudy Bediones for initiating the fund drive and PDG Vince Carlos for the blood donation.

Php 16,000,000.00 is the retail price of the CoVid-19 Test Kits that were donated by Medicare Plus which were delivered to Pasay, Parañaque and Taytay and on Wednesday, PGH, will get one more box from the rest. This incredible effort has been coordinated by Rtn. Juan Montel and STAR Rtn. Sean Rodriguez. They are arranging for the second donation. Let us pray for them to succeed. We thank IPP Jackie Rodriguez for expediting the delivery of the donation.

Aside from the Php 16,000,000.00 donation, we have another good news, as today, February 18, 2021, the “Mushroom to Classroom” is being held at the Elementary School in Pasay City. 200 Barangay Chairmen will undergo this seminar in cooperation with the Pasay City Government as well as the “Baryanihan: Barya Mo, Tulong sa Kapwa Mo” where cans will be distributed along Metro Manila to raise funds for the hungry and the sick. Both projects are RCM and JCI Makati Partnership Outreach Projects for one year. Thank you to 2021 JCI Makati LO President Lawrence “Lance” Tan, our current Star Rotarian. Both of us are signing a Memorandum of Agreement approved by our Board to be executed today, February 18, 2021, 5:00 pm, among Manila Rotarians and Makati Jaycees at The Heritage Hotel Manila in Pasay City. Food and wine are complimentary. More Jaycees from Manila and Makati will be joining RCM. We have Rotarians among us who came from the Jaycees.

We have revived the recruitment campaign to increase membership until June 2021 and beyond. Thank you Lord and Mama Mary for all the blessings that is happening to RCM. We thank our Board of Directors, Advisers, Officers and Members for their 100% support for the Club. We are working to exceed our expectations and the Star Rotarians we have recruited are beyond par.

All the best!

Your Servant Leader,

Robert “Bobby” Lim Joseph, Jr. President RY 2020-2021 (101st President)
