President’s Corner

Greetings Fellow Members of The Rotary Club of Manila!

We are now well into the “ber” months and as we anticipate the finest season of the year, it is, indeed, good to know that the CoVid-19 numbers are improving. Needless to say, we should all continue to be conscious and vigilant to follow necessary protocols. Equally important is to remind our respective household members to observe the same.

Last Saturday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) gave our club a Special Plaque of Appreciation for the efforts behind the vaccination program. Director Noy Benedicto very ably represented us in receiving the honor extended by no less than Chairman Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. himself. The initiative made by RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra, together with the Philippine Dental Association, has, indeed, made a major impact on this all important national effort. As such, I think it, but fit to turn over to RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra. I hope he can still find space in his trophy room for this! Maraming salamat muli RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra!

Today, we shall be hearing from our third “Presidentiable” guest, Hon. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Senator of the Republic of the Philippines. The good Senator was our Guest of Honor and Speaker last year when he presented the salient points about the “Anti- Terrorist” Bill. Very eloquent and convincing was he as he unpacked and addressed the various fears and apprehensions many had about the controversial bill. Let us see how well he will present his platform today as he jockeys for the highest position in the land.

Let us all continue to pray for our country and as we approach the coming elections – that we will all be guided by His Hand and Wisdom!

Cheers my dear RCM brothers!!!

Humbly yours in Rotary, FSZ
