President’s Corner
President Chito Zaldarriaga reflects on the types of love, recalls ex-Commissioner Guanzon’s talk, and announces the club’s Early Achiever citation.

Greetings Fellow RCM brothers!
We have just celebrated the day of hearts a few days ago and I am sure most of us have had a chance to reflect on and relish our beloved ones in one way or another. I came across the following types of love, especially, Greek definitions of love as used in the Bible. They are as follows:
Storge – (Pronounced Stor-Jay) Familia Love—as in a mother’s love for her children
PHILIA – Brotherly love
EROS – or Sensual or Romantic Love which was what was predominantly celebrated last Monday
The fourth kind which was unique and was only used in reference to the kind of love God had in the verse of John 3:16: “For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have Eternal Life”. The love word used here was AGAPE and it had never been used in the scriptures until that supreme sacrificial act of Christ was done. Amazing and awesome kind of love, indeed!
We had quite a fiery presentation by ex-Commissioner Guanzon last week and her narrative was, indeed, an eye opener for what is really going on in the COMELEC. Let us hope that some semblance of order and legitimacy will soon prevail in that critical government body.
There was an Area Meeting held last Monday afternoon and among other items, I am happy to announce that our Club was awarded a citation for Early Achiever of the Rotary Citation. Kudos to one and all!
Today, we have two of our club Pillars who will be talking about very important news with respect to what is up ahead by way of Rotary International activities and our own project with the Dualtech group. Enjoy the meeting folks and have a great weekend ahead! Cheers!
Humbly yours in Rotary,
FSZ Felix Francisco S. Zaldarriaga, President RY 2021-2022
