President’s Corner

Greetings to one and all!

As the numbers of CoVid-19 Cases continue to gradually decrease, we hope that this, indeed, is the start of the ENDEMIC, so, we can all get back to leading lives closer to what we once.

Last week, we had two of our own pillars in the Rotary Club of Manila deliver talks on the upcoming Rotary International Houston Convention in June and on the Dualtech Scholarship Program. DDCC/IPP Bobby Joseph gave a comprehensive update and called for more participation in the Dualtech Scholarship Program that was launched last year and is co-chaired by RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra. I echo these calls and invitations to participate in both!

RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra has finally been able to secure slots for the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI). He was able to extend it to six (6) more available slots for Batch 3, an arrangement which is unprecedented as these training modules are rare and only accorded to Presidents-Elect.

Last week, we had the first meeting for the Journalism Awards headed by BLA /Director Amading Valdez. The working plans were mapped out and the signature project is now on its way for the search for the most outstanding journalists of the country!

Today, we are having a Town Hall Meeting wherein we will start with a quick review of what has been done by our club in the past six (6) months of our Rotary Year 2021-2022. After this, we will dedicate some time to an Open Forum. Hopefully, this will be a productive and healthy interchange amongst members and officers of the club as we work together towards constantly keeping the club up to par with what the Rotary Club of Manila has been known for all these years!

May God bless us all! Mabuhay ang Rotary Club of Manila!

Humbly yours in Rotary,

FSZ Felix Francisco S. Zaldarriaga, President RY 2021-2022
