President's Corner

Greetings RCM brothers!

As we wind down the Rotary Year with this year’s TOWER Awards, one of the signature projects of our beloved club, it was delightful to have accomplished this with the cooperation of the PMAP, DOLE and support of PAGCOR. In our first ever all-live General Membership Meeting, the ballroom of the New World Makati Hotel was filled with quite a number of our members, guests and friends from PMAP, DOLE and some representatives from PAGCOR. No less than the President of Rotary International, Shekhar Mehta, cited this project and conveyed his personal greetings in our BALITA. Dignitaries who were present made the event more significant and memorable. Secretary Silvestre Belo III gave a virtual message and our partners from PMAP, President Ellen C. Fullido, gave her inspirational talk as well.

We need to thank Chairman RCManila Foundation, Inc. President and Rotary Club of Manila PP Susing Pineda (Centennial President) and Co-Chairman RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Rotary Club of Manila Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra for having successfully done this hallmark project of the Rotary Club of Manila. We need to thank all the committee members.

I liked Dir. Amading Valdez’s opening remarks when he was about to present the winners! “I am sorry, but I seem to have misplaced the list of winners I am supposed to call out”. I fell for it and quickly looked for Anna to come to the rescue… Thank you Dir. Amading Valdez for having added a bit of spice to the event!

Congratulations to the following winners:

Franklin A. Dalida from San Miguel Yamamura Packaging

Carlo R. Sereno of Opentext (Philippines)

Christian P. Caubang of Energy Development Corporation

Ramil A. Atienza of Nexperia

We are all so proud of you, truly OUTSTANDING WORKERS OF THE REPUBLIC!!!

RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra has issued an invitation for the Handover and Induction Ceremonies of our club for Rotary Year 2022-2023. This is scheduled for July 7, 2022 with registration to commence at 4:00 pm. This will be held at the Conrad Hotel. Please sign up if you haven’t. “The Boys of 1905” promises to be an event we cannot miss!

Before I forget, last May 21, 2022, our club was ably represented by PDG Rudy Bediones, PDG Vince Carlos, RCManila Foundation, Inc. Chairman and Rotary Club of Manila Programs Committee Chairman PE/PVP Hermie Esguerra and DE/Dir. Johnny Chotrani. Though we did not get as much accolades as the previous Rotary year, we are thankful and I give back all thanks and kudos to you all for the awards given to us.

Finally, I will make the last few appeals and reminders to be a Paul Harris Fellow and for Everyone to Bring One! Not too late folks!

Stay well everyone! God Bless us all!

Humbly yours in Rotary,
