Creating Philippines Oral Health One Smile at a Time

The Rotary Club of Manila has received pledges of ₱300,000 toward a ₱4 million goal for community oral health programs for children and young adults.

Creating Philippines Oral Health One Smile at a Time

90% of the 110 million population of the Philippines never sees a dentist. As a result, the Philippines has the highest prevalence for dental decay (caries) among Asia-Pacific nations. While elsewhere around the globe, the index for diseased, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) is 1.2 – 1.5, the DMFT for the Philippines is 9.7 – 13.6.

The Rotary Club of Manila is committed to the identification and support of the oral health conditions and needs of children and young adults (aged 3 – 19 years of age) in underserved communities together with arranging access to dedicated care. RCM has received pledges for ₱ 300,000 and is committed to raising ₱ 4 million in an effort to provide for these young individuals. And, we earnestly ask each of you to join with us in these fundraising efforts.

Besides raising funds for indigent children in the Smokey Mountain District of Tondo in Manila, we will also be supporting a “Christmas Toy and Food Drive” for over 150 children and families. We will be looking for toy and food donations as well.

Let us significantly impact the health of each of these children while giving them a future they can truly smile about! Please join us and support our Community Oral Health programs!
