From 2001 to 2010, Cojuangco served as the Representative of the 5th district of Pangasinan. In 2022, he successfully sought a comeback to Congress, this time for the 2nd district of Pangasinan. He changed his residency from Sison to Lingayen. In the May 9, 2022 elections, he ran under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) and defeated the incumbent Congressman. He assumed office as the Representative of the 2nd district of Pangasinan on June 30, 2022. He is currently serving as congressman of the second legislative district of Pangasinan, in Ilocos Region.

His accomplishments include the lobbying for and successful monetization and continuous release of the 12 years overdue tobacco tax share of Burley tobacco producing areas throughout the country amounting to 6.5Billion pesos, initially.
House Bill 04631
Cojuangco is the author of the controversial House Bill 04631 that mandates the immediate re-commissioning and commercial operation of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant, appropriating funds therefor, and for other purposes. His presentation of the bill at the Congressional hearing on February 2, 2009, came under scrutiny from the opposition for citing articles about nuclear plants in other countries and quotes from non-experts to argue for the re-commissioning of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant.
Principally Authored Bills
“Bataan Nuclear Power Plant Re-commissioning Act of 2008” (House Bill No. 4631) HB 4631, which would later become House Bill No. 6300, was coauthored by more than two-thirds of the Members of the House of Representatives after Rep. Cojuangco competently defended its merits.
“Bataan Nuclear Power Plant Act of 2010” (House Bill No. 1291) Filed by his wife, Representative Carmen S. Cojuangco in July 2010. The bill reached third reading.
