Citation of Roberto M. Pagdanganan, PhD

A consistent honor student and scholar during his days at the academe, Roberto M. Pagdanganan or simply “Obet” to his family and friends can be best described as a person who has a great passion for life and a man with a heart of gold. With his outstanding academic record, it is not surprising that he has amassed noteworthy awards, such as the valedictorian of his batch at Calumpit Elementary School in 1959 and batch valedictorian at Colegio de Calumpit Inc (formely Calumpit Insitute) in 1963.

His desire to hone his gift continued as he was bestowed the Summa Cum Laude award at Manuel L. Quezon University in 1968 with the degree of Bachelor Science in Chemical Engineering. He pursued his MBA degree at De La Salle University in 1977 and was conferred a Doctorate Degree in Educational Management (Honoris Causa) by Bulacan State University. He received numerous awards and recognitions, and even held different positions in the corporate world.

With his extensive experience in government service, ‘Ka Obet”, now on his 4th term as the President of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines has been awarded the “Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2022” recognition for public service. His compassion for the less fortunate has strengthened his resolve to help fight poverty and to improve the quality of life of the Filipino people, this is indeed an act worthy of emulation.

With the guidance of the Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self” and with his open heart and helping hands, he proved that a CCIAN is always Truly the Finest
