4th Weekly Membership Meeting: A Recap

Directors and committee chairmen presented their plans for the year, Governor Lai De La Cruz addressed the club, and members were recognized at the fining session.

4th Weekly Membership Meeting: A Recap

Following President Raffy Alunan’s presentation of the strategic plans and goals for the year, the directors and committee chairmen took turns presenting their respective plans for the year. Dir. Mike Albaña, Director in Charge of Club Service, presented the duties, plans for the year, chair, vice chair, and members of the various committees under Club Service.

Dir. Jujut Enriquez, director in charge of Membership Concerns, presented the various committees under his supervision, naming the respective chair, vice chair, and members, as well as each committee’s proposed goals for the year. SAA Nagi Zeitouni made an oral report of his exciting plans for the Sports Fellowship Committee. VP Reggie Yu, director in charge of Community Service, introduced the committee chair and vice chair under his supervision.

Asst. Board Legal Adviser Teddy Kalaw, Chairman of Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee, presented his committee vice chair, members and the short term and long term plan of the committee. PD John Cutter, Chairman of Disease Prevention and Treatment Committee, presented the fellow-servants of the committee and the calendar of activities for the year.

Board Legal Adviser Raoul C. Creencia, Chairman of the WASH Committee, presented his team composed of Rtn. Emman dela Cruz, Rtn. Jop Esquivias, Rtn. Micray Gonzalez and Rtn. Aries Balanay. He also unveiled the priority WASH programs for the year.

Asst. Secretary Rami Chahwan presented the team of the Rotary Community Corps Community, and the Committee’s plans for the year. The Economic and Community Development Committee’s plans was presented by VP Reggie Yu in behalf of Chairman STAR Rtn. Arik Arvin Carranceja.

Dir. Hans Palacios, Director in Charge of Special Projects, presented the committees that he oversees.

After the presentation of the year’s goals based on the menu of Governor's Challenge and the RI President’s menu of priority in order to earn the RI Citation, District Governor Lai De La Cruz delivered her message to the membership of Rotary Club of Manila. After delivering her challenging and inspiring message, Gov. Lai De La Cruz was presented a Certificate of Appreciation by President Raffy Alunan.

Recognition Time / Fining Session

Sec. Edwin Hernandez, Chairman of Finemaster Committee, in partnership with Vice Chairman AS Rami Chahwan, recognized the following members for an extraordinary feat in business, service and family achievement:

Rtn. Joey Garcia was imposed a fine for being featured as the best Batchoy Ramen in Dapat Alam Mo with Kuya Kim and Susan Enriquez.

Rtn. Anton Mauricio was recognized and accordingly fined for being always the luckiest man in the world having a beauty queen model from Laguna beside him during the Beta Launch of the PEP at the Manila Hotel.

IPP Hermie Esguerra was likewise recognized and tasked to pay a fine for having a future lawyer Gab in the family who just completed his Juris Doctor from the Ateneo Law School.

Pres. Raffy Alunan did not escape the imposition of a fine. He was also asked to pay for having a very inspirational oath taking led by Associate Justice Jose Midas Marquez as seen in this BizNewsAsia feature.

We now have a very clear set of directions for RY 2023-2024 which includes the Governor’s 12-Point Challenge/ and RI Citation. Where we are all enjoined to help achieve and surpass the challenges. We are likewise enlightened by RCM’s vision to be a committed club, motivated to serve others selflessly, compliant with the 4-Way Test, and driven to Create Hope in the World. To support the vision and initiative, we have seen the directors and committee heads present their plans and program. All are welcome to participate and be part of a committee.

There are values that we must purposely try to build within our club. A constant effort to establish brotherhood underpinned by our faithfulness to the 4 Way Test must be unrelentingly pursued.
