7th Weekly Membership Meeting: A Recap
A joint meeting of the Rotary Club of Manila and the Rotary Club of Makati West, with Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista as guest of honor and speaker.

Rotarian Joel Talampas invited President Raffy Alunan and President Dax Carlos to call the joint meeting of the Rotary Club of Manila and Rotary Club of Makati West to order. Sounding the bell, President Raffy Alunan and President Dax Carlos signaled the commencement of the joint meeting.
PP Arsenio "Archit" Bartolome III, RCManila Foundation Pres. Wilfredo "Willie" M. Peliño, and Past Director Abraham "Abe" Pascual took part in singing the "God Alone" charismatic hymn before the invocation was led by RC Makati West Past President Roque S. Tordesillas. The members and guests altogether prayed in silence, giving thanks and honor to God for the opportunity of holding a joint meeting between two kindred Rotary Clubs.

Makati West and Manila Rotarians, together with the guests, sang the Philippine National Anthem.

Birthday celebrants of the week from Rotary Club of Makati West, as well as Rotary Anns who were represented by their spouses were serenaded by the RCM World Famous Chorale to mark a joyous celebration of another trip around the sun. The RCM World Famous Chorale led Manila Rotarians in the singing of the RC Manila Hymn. With equal passion and fervor, the RC Makati West members sang their club hymn in acapella. Guests were serenaded by the RCM Music Chorale with a Welcome Song.
Fining Session

RC Manila Rtn. Ben Ibuyan and RC Makati West Rtn./Congressman Paul Daza conducted a joint fining session. During the session, Congressman Daza held a question-and-answer quiz. Those who gave incorrect answers were fined Php1,000, while those who provided correct answers were given a gift as a token of appreciation. It was a fun and ingenious way of exacting payments from Rotarians.
President's Time

Pres. Raffy Alunan and Pres. Dax Carlos informed the members of the Rotary Club of Manila and Rotary Club of Makari West of the activities of their respective clubs. Past RI Director Guiller Tumangan introduced Hon. Jaime “Jimmy” Bautista, Secretary of the Department of Transportation, the joint meeting’s guest of honor and speaker.
Hon. Jaime J. Bautista, Secretary of the Department of Transportation, presented the plans, ongoing and forthcoming projects, as well as the achievements to date of the government’s effort to modernize the transport sector.

Open Forum
Sec. Bautista gladly responded to the recommendations, queries and comments during the open forum participated by Rtn. Mike Ozaeta, IA Nick Locsin, PD Amading Valdez, PD Issam Eldebs, PD Oscar del Rosario, Balita Vice Chair Billy Andal, and Dir. Hans Palacios.

Charging of New Member
Past District Governor Alex Cureg, as Charging Officer, aptly reminded the inductee of the commitment to the ethical standards and service mantra of Rotary, as well as the specific responsibilities of being a Manila Rotarian. Incoming member Miguel “Mico” Mendoza (CEO of Telnovo Communication) was introduced by co-proposer VP Reggie Yu.
