16th Weekly Membership Meeting: A Recap

Program Moderator

Rtn. Joseph Emmanuel “Emman” A. Dela Cruz was the week’s Program Moderator who efficiently navigated the sequence of the meeting. He began by inviting Manila Rotarians to be seated to allow the meeting to officially commence.

Call to Order

Sounding the bell, Pres. Rafael “Raffy” M. Alunan III called the 16th weekly membership meeting to order.

Invocation

With a beautifully written prayer, PP Felix Francisco S. “Chito” Zaldarriaga led the invocation for the membership.

Philippine National Anthem / RCM Hymn

Rotary Members and guests took a position of respect as they sang the Philippine National Anthem. This was followed by the singing of the RCM Hymn.

4-Way Test

Rotarians were again reminded of their commitment to live by the 4-Way Test, with the recitation of this mantra led by AT Karlo Eugene Josef M. “Karlo” Castro.

The Rotary Club of Manila Hymn and Welcome Song

The “World Famous” WF Chorale led the singing of the Rotary Club of Manila Hymn and the Welcome Song.

President’s Time

President Raffy has reminded the RCM members regarding the completion and submission of the Club Health Check survey. He likewise emphasized its significance as a preparatory measure for the upcoming General Assembly, scheduled on October 26, 2023 at the Manila Polo Club. The Club Health Check survey, he said, serves as a vital tool in assessing the overall well-being of the club organization.

Pres. Raffy also stated that active participation in this process is valuable, as it ensures that a comprehensive understanding of the club's strengths and areas is well attended. He finally underscored the need to for all members to contribute in strengthening and fostering a thriving community within RCM.

Induction of New Members

Four (4) new members were inducted, namely Manuel G. Almelor (Proposer: PD Oscar Del Rosario), Val Constantine L. Co (Proposer: Rtn. Bernardo Benedicto), Christian Cesar P. Bello (Proposer: PE Jujut Enriquez) and Delfin N. Lorenzana (Proposer: Pres. Raffy Alunan).

Pres. Raffy led the oath-taking of Val Constantine L. Co, Manuel G. Almelor, Christian Cesar P. Bello, and Delfin N. Lorenzana.

Introduction of the Guest of Honor & Speaker

Pres. Raffy introduced the guest of honor and speaker, BCDA Chairman Delfin N. Lorenzana.

Guest of Honor and Speaker

BCDA Chairman Delfin N. Lorenzana delivered his message to the members and guests. He focused on the mandate and various projects and initiatives of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA).

Open Forum

BCDA Chairman Delfin N. Lorenzana gamely engaged in an interactive conversation with PP Chito Zaldarriaga, PD Beda Fajardo, Dir. Hans C. Palacios, and DGE Jackie Fernandez, among others.

Token of Appreciation

Pres. Raffy Alunan presented the club’s token of appreciation to BCDA Chairman Delfin N. Lorenzana. Witnessing this are (from left): PP Archit M. Bartolome III, Rtn. Felicito C. Payumo, PP Felix Francisco S. Zaldarriaga, District Governor-Elect Jackie C. Rodriguez (Chairman, Program Committee), PD Beda G. Fajardo, PDG Alexander P. Cureg, and Dir. Albert C. Palacios.
