21st Weekly Membership Meeting: A Recap
Broadcast journalist and news anchor Ms. Karen Davila was the guest of honor and speaker at the December 7, 2023 meeting.

Program Moderator
Rtn. Raoul Villegas was the week’s aptly chosen Program Moderator. He began by inviting Manila Rotarians to be seated to allow the meeting to officially commence.

Call to Order
Sounding the bell, Pres. Rafael “Raffy” M. Alunan III called the 21st weekly membership meeting to order.

Invocation
With a beautifully written prayer, PP Chito Zaldarriaga led the invocation for the membership.

Philippine National Anthem / RCM Hymn
Rotary Members and guests took a position of respect as they sang the Philippine National Anthem. This was followed by the singing of the RCM Hymn.

Four-Way Test
Rotarians were reminded anew of their commitment to live by the 4-Way Test, with the recitation of this mantra led by Rtn. Emilio La’O.

The Rotary Club of Manila Hymn and Welcome Song
The “World Famous” RCM Chorale led the singing of the Rotary Club of Manila Hymn and the Welcome Song.

President’s Time
President Raffy reminded the RCM members regarding the forthcoming activities of RCM for the week/month, such as: Christmas gift-giving at the Montessori School of Mithing Pangarap, Smokey Mountain, Tondo; handover of check donations and Christmas gifts to PGH Pediatric Cancer Ward; Gen. Assembly, and finally, the food pack distribution to indigent residents of Bgy. Cupang in Muntinlupa.

VP Reginald Yu introduced the guest of honor and speaker, broadcast journalist and news anchor Ms. Karen Davila.

Broadcast journalist and news anchor Ms. Karen Davila gave an interesting, engaging, and insightful talk.

Open Forum
President Raffy Alunan immediately started the fireside chat with Ms. Karen Davila, followed by VPE Joel Valdes. Ms. Karen Davila gamely answered the questions propounded to her.

Token of Appreciation
Pres. Rafael Alunan presented the club’s token of appreciation to Ms. Karen Davila.

Adjournment
After thanking the guest speaker and all attendees, the meeting was adjourned by Pres. Raffy Alunan.

Performing Guests
The Rotary Fellowship of International Voices and Performing Arts serenaded the Rotarians and guests, especially Ms. Karen Davila, with well-chosen Christmas carols.

As is customary, the Rotary Fellowship of International Voices and Performing Arts (RFIVPA) exchanged bannerettes with RC Manila.
