Albert S. Alday is a distinguished figure in the Rotary community, renowned for his extensive contributions and leadership roles. Joining the Rotary Club of Manila at a young age of 32 on October 6, 2005, he initially faced challenges bridging the generation gap. However, through his active participation in fellowships and his dedication to Rotary's values, he gradually found his place within the club.
His journey in Rotary governance began with his appointment as Chairman of the New Generations Service Committee in RY 2010-2011, under the guidance of the late Past President Gert Gust. This opportunity allowed him to showcase his potential and passion for nurturing young leaders. Subsequently, he served as Club Secretary for multiple terms and held various director positions, showcasing his commitment and effective leadership within the club.
Mr. Alday is widely recognized for his outstanding service in Rotary. He has played a vital role as the Editor-in-Chief of the Balita, the Rotary Club of Manila's weekly bulletin. His dedication to this role has earned him respect among his peers. Additionally, he has been actively involved in numerous committees and organizations, such as the Alay Lakad Committee, New Generations Service Committee, Sagip Kabataan Foundation, Inc., and RCManila Foundation, Inc.
His contributions extend beyond the club level. Within Rotary District 3810, Mr. Alday has been recognized for his exceptional service and leadership. He has received prestigious awards, including Rotarian of the Year in RY 2017-2018 and the Pro Patria Journalism Award for 2021. Moreover, he has actively participated in the International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians, holding notable positions and representing the Philippines in international events.
Apart from his Rotary involvement, Mr. Alday has achieved recognition as a journalist. He has authored several publications, many of which focus on the theme of service above self. These publications have garnered acclaim and have contributed to his reputation as an accomplished journalist. Outside of Rotary, Mr. Alday has been involved in various organizations, including JCI Philippines, JCI Senate Philippines, Manila North Royal Eagles Club, Entrepreneurs Society of the Philippines Toastmasters Club and Kiwanis Club of Quezon City Balintawak. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his exceptional contributions in these organizations, highlighting his commitment to excellence and leadership.
In his professional career, Mr. Alday has worked in various capacities, including as a university registrar, school director, and corporate communications officer. He currently holds positions as Chairman of the Board of Safety First Ventures Inc., Chief Strategist of FH Media.PH, Chief Strategist of Folium Multimedia Production and a Member of the Board of Directors of DIGECO.
Mr. Alday’s academic achievements are noteworthy. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines Diliman and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Perpetual Help Rizal. He further pursued his education with a Master of Laws in International Business Law from Boston University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Metaphysics from the American College of Metaphysical Theology. Additionally, he has completed two years of medical school at the UP College of Medicine.
