With over two decades of experience, Mr. Albaña has built strong relationships with key industry players, including corporate clients, travel agents, airlines, and event organizers. His expertise and dedication have earned him a reputation as a trusted figure in the field.

After serving as the Commercial Director at Conrad Manila, Mr. Albaña has taken on the role of Vice President and General Manager at SMX Convention Center. His appointment to this position is a testament to his exceptional skills and expertise in the industry.

Mr. Albaña's journey in the hospitality industry began at Century International Hotels, and he has since held various ascending sales and marketing roles in renowned establishments. His professional background includes successful tenures at Holiday Inn Manila (now Manila Pavilion), Westin Philippine Plaza (now Sofitel Philippine Plaza), Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort and Spa, Traders Hotel Manila (now Hotel Jen), Shangri-La's Fijian Resort and Spa, and Edsa Shangri-La Manila. His clients, who have become good friends, have consistently followed him throughout his career, showcasing the trust and loyalty he has built with them.

Throughout his career, Mr. Albaña has adhered to a simple yet unwavering mantra: “At the end of the day, it’s all about establishing relationships with your clients. When you handle them, you have to become the sole solution to their problems."

Mr. Albaña has not only learned from tourism industry stalwarts but has also mentored several Sales and Marketing Directors, fostering the development of future leaders in the industry. His mentors instilled in him the belief that he could surpass their achievements and encouraged him to always strive for excellence.

In addition to his role at SMX Convention Center, Mr. Albaña continues to contribute to the industry and community in various capacities. He currently serves as President of the Pasay City Alliance of Tourism Advocates, Director of SKAL International Makati, and Trustee of the Tourism Congress of the Philippines.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Albaña maintains a passion for adventure and believes in maintaining a balanced life. He is an avid mountaineer, scuba diver, circuit racer, golfer, sport shooter, and mountain biker. His passion for mountaineering has shaped his approach to business, emphasizing the importance of setting goals and maintaining focus to reach the peak or be No. 1 in the market.
