Rtn. Brendan William Laurence Egan
Rtn. Brendan Egan was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1987 in recognition of his services to British education.

Rtn. Brendan William Laurence Egan was born on 8 March 1937 at the Louise Margaret Hospital in Aldershot, Hampshire, while his father Bill was stationed with the Army near Alexandria, Egypt. He received his early education in Colchester, Aldershot, and Farnborough before passing the “Eleven-plus” scholarship exam and attending Farnborough Grammar School. Supported by a Hampshire County Major Scholarship, he pursued higher education at the University of Reading, where he graduated in 1959 with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics. Rtn. Brendan Egan began his career in information sciences with the Royal Air Force’s Operational Research Group in Bomber Command, before moving to the private sector as a programming supervisor with NCR's Financial Computing Centre in London. In 1965, he was seconded to the Philippines, where he held various leadership roles with NCR Corporation Philippines. In 1980, he co-founded Beeline Management Services, an IT consulting firm focused on management information systems. He married Victoria Nebrida Zablan in 1971, and they raised three sons. Rtn. Brendan played an essential role in the establishment and governance of the British School Manila from its founding in 1976, serving as a Governor for four decades and currently as Special Advisor to the Chairman. In recognition of his services to British education, he was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1987, with the investiture held at Buckingham Palace by Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal.
