Renato L. Lopez

In manufacturing, where efficiency, precision, and reliability are essential, Renato “Boyax” Lopez has become a quiet yet indispensable force through his dedication, leadership, and practical innovation.

Raised in Polomolok, South Cotabato, Boyax built his career through perseverance and a relentless willingness to learn. Although he was unable to complete his Electrical Engineering studies at the University of Mindanao, he transformed hands-on experience into expertise, steadily rising through the ranks at Dole Philippines, Inc. — from Mechanic Trainee in 2004 to Head Mechanic in 2025. His journey reflects the dignity and transformative power of honest labor.

Boyax earned respect not only for his technical skills, but also for his solutions-driven mindset. His most notable innovation was the installation of a cups inverter system for 4 oz. and 7 oz. cup products at the PCFP Binning Line. Previously, workers manually inverted thousands of cups during packing — a repetitive process that caused fatigue, ergonomic strain, and inefficiency. Through careful observation and hands-on fabrication, Boyax developed a simple but highly effective inverter mechanism that automated the process. The innovation significantly reduced manual handling, improved operational flow, enhanced worker ergonomics, and increased productivity. More importantly, the project generated savings exceeding ₱ 7.6 million within a single operational period.

Dependable, collaborative, and deeply committed to continuous improvement, Boyax exemplifies the Filipino worker whose ingenuity and perseverance uplift both industry performance and the dignity of labor itself.
