Rowena L. Gumban

In manufacturing, where efficiency and teamwork are vital to success, Rowena “Weng” Gumban has distinguished herself through practical innovation, steady leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. From her early days as a packer at Dole Philippines, Inc. in 2003 to her current role as Team Leader, Weng’s journey reflects resilience, discipline, and determination. While balancing work and family responsibilities, she earned a degree in Business Administration major in Management Accounting from RMMC in 2015 — a testament to her perseverance and drive for continuous growth.

Over more than two decades in the industry, Weng earned a reputation for reliability, sound judgment, and effective leadership. Her consistently outstanding performance evaluations reflect not only technical competence, but also her ability to lead teams and improve operational efficiency.

Her most notable contribution was the “Design and Implementation of Ginaca 3 Diversion for Line Integration and Manpower Reduction.” Recognizing inefficiencies caused by separate preparation tables and redundant handling processes, Weng developed a diversion chute system that allowed two Ginaca machines to operate using a single preparation and processing line. The innovation streamlined workflow, reduced manual handling, improved ergonomics, and maintained product quality and operational reliability. Most significantly, the project reduced 22 personnel across two shifts and generated savings exceeding ₱ 9.2 million.

Beyond operational results, Weng is admired for her collaborative spirit, dependability, and willingness to mentor others. As a wife, mother, and respected production leader, she exemplifies the strength, ingenuity, and dignity of the Filipino worker.
