Former National Security Adviser and Former Parañaque Representative PVP Roilo Golez was interviewed by Ray Orosa on Heartbeat Live over Global News Network last June 1, 2018. He highlighted China’s plan to establish a Strategic Triangle to gain full control of the South China Sea, which is a grave threat to our national security. The Strategic Triangle has been a part of his lectures on the South China Sea since February 2015 or more than three years ago. This concept was concretized in January 2015 in Tokyo during an international security workshop hosted by Japan. The plan of China is to establish military bases in Woody Island, the first point of the Triangle, then in the Spratlys’ artificial islands, including Mischief Reef. The third is Scarborough Shoal which China seized in 2012. The third point is still in the planning stages. He added that this is a grave threat to our national security.
