Spanish-Philippine Ties That Have Shaped Rotary Club of Manila History

A look back at the 2010 conferment of an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree on the visiting Spanish Supreme Court Chief Justice by then UE Law Dean Amado Valdez.

As we reminisce the past 100 years of Asia’s First Rotary Club, we cannot help, but, recognize and appreciate events of past that have made our bonds stronger with the passing of time. Indeed, the conferment of an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree by then University of the East Law Dean DE/BLA Amado “Amading” Valdez on the visiting Spanish Supreme Court Chief Justice through coordination with Rtn. Pepe Rodriguez, then, Director of Instituto Español, way back in 2010, immensely enhanced Spanish-Philippine relations in Service Above Self. Truly, treasured moments worth a trip down memory lane.
