President's Corner
President Jackie Rodriguez introduces guest speaker Karlo Nograles, announces his trip to the Rotary Club of Calcutta centennial celebration and appeals for new members.
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Every once in a while, our country produces young men and women of great qualities who give us faith and hope for the greater glory of our country. Such is the case with our guest speaker today. Our speaker from Davao City was prepared, educated and given the opportunity to be honed into the great works that he is currently doing and is expected to do it during his lifetime.
I feel lucky and happy today to have Karlo as our Guest of Honor and Speaker today, not only because of his achievements, not only because he is a nephew of our President and also the Cabinet Secretary, but, also, because my family has long term ties with his family. The great pioneer Davaoeño Rep. Arsenio Suazo, his great grandfather, was the law partner of Judge Joaquin Rodriguez. His father was a close relative as well. He is considered by many quarters as one of the best Speakers of the House of Representatives.
I am leaving for Kolkata later today to join the centennial celebration of the Rotary Club of Calcutta. I will be joined by Chairman PDG Vince Carlos, DE Johnny Chotrani, VPE Thad Liamzon and others.
There is a need for young, good and friendly members for our club. Please help your club in bringing in new members.
Best,
Jackie
