The Rotary Club of Manila held its 26th meeting, with WHO Country Representative Dr. Rabindra R. Abeyasinghe as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Pres. Jackie Rodriguez calls the 26th meeting to order.

PP Cesar Ubaldo, as Officer-In-Charge/Program Moderator, calls the sequence of activities.

PD John Cenica delivers an ecumenical prayer.

STAR Rtn. Tobi Rast leads in the recitation of the Four (4) Way Test to renew with fellow Rotarians their commitment to the Rotary movement.

Rtn. Hans Palacios introduces the personalities seated at the presidential table, visiting Rotarians and guests.

Pres. Jackie Rodriguez, during his President’s Time, acknowledged with sincere thanks and appreciation the presence of Ambassadors at the meeting. He then recognized the Rotary Club of Manila’s creation of a Rotary Centennial Club Circle with the Rotary Club of Manila as the lead club. This is a milestone achievement of his administration with the forthcoming signing of Centenary Relations of the Rotary Club of Manila with the Rotary Club of Calcutta, the Rotary Club of Shanghai and the Rotary Club of Seattle. In Calcutta, a delegation of Manila Rotarians will be attending the centennial celebration.

DE Johnny Chotrani does the honor, pleasure and privilege of introducing Dr. Rabindra R. Abeyasinghe, World Health Organization Country Representative to the Republic of the Philippines, as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Dr. Rabindra R. Abeyasinghe delivers an update on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019 NCOV), its historical timeline, epidemiology, health risk assessment, public health concerns and its recommendations to prevent the spread of the deadly disease.

The Manila Rotarians who participated in the open forum were PP Frank Evaristo, PVP Lance Masters, PSAA Gunter Matschuck, Rtn. Romy Nones and PVP Chito Zaldarriaga.

RCM Weekly Birthday Celebrants

Pres. Jackie Rodriguez presents the week’s celebrant, PVP Chito Zaldarriaga, for the traditional blowing of candle on the birthday cake amidst the singing by the RCM World Famous Music Chorale of the happy birthday song.
