President’s Corner

Dear Colleagues in RCM,

These past three weeks were very stressful for the Board, especially for me. We had to clarify issues that we have uncovered, defended our position and a lot more. We understand that we have to go through all of this to get the best possible solutions for the improvement of our Club.

On the second Thursday of August, the Rotary Club of Cebu through Rotarian Ambassador Roy Lotzof, has agreed to have a joint meeting for the purpose of briefing us on their strategies and guiding us to bid for projects that will be covered by Global Grants. Vice President Thad Liamzon is heading this committee. I received the go signal of PVP Lance Masters to assist VP Thad Liamzon.

We need more meetings amongst us for E-Learnings to rotarize everyone. Star Rotarians will speak about their companies and inspire us with their leadership skills. Members who were not able to share in the past are encouraged to be speakers and join our Speakers Bureau. We plan to share our expertise in Universities, Industry and Government. We may consider having free seminars to other clubs, sharing with the public our activities, and sharing our experiences.

We are in the process of hiring a Secretary to assist our Executive Secretary to upgrade our services in order to promote our Club to the world and secure support from huge companies for endowments and sponsorships in cooperation with the RCM Foundation.

Please take the offer of IPP Jackie Rodriguez, Foundation Chair and PVP Hermie Esguerra and PDG Alex Cureg who are donating their points to cover 50% of the costs for every member who will be a Paul Harris Fellow. Instead of paying US $1000, members will donate only US $500. Should you want to be a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, you can take advantage of this 50% payment.

Rotary has the power of diversity and the power of upholding our values. Let us treat others with dignity and respect. We all have the moral courage to treat someone with dignity and respect. If we all respect each other, it will keep us strong, happy, proud and united. Let us all be reminded to serve and share above self and our Four Way Test. Wherever we go, let us spread joy, love, goodness, faithfulness and peace.

Thank you for your 100% support to your servant President.
