President's Corner
President Bobby Joseph reports on the new weekly program format, the filling of four director slots, foreign grants under negotiation and the club's planned outreach.

Dear Colleagues in RCM,
May the greetings of the Lord bless you with love, compassion, patience and caring.
The format of our weekly program has changed. We have focused on encouraging members to share their experiences and expertise. Our Balita will be constantly improving as we have outsourced it to my media team at no cost to the club. Balita will be linked to my Transformational President Classmates and the District 3810 Governor”s Monthly Letter. We have invited Rotaractors to our meetings and we will collaborate with them for projects we plan to establish. We need volunteers to join our Speakers' Bureau to speak to different organizations in the country or abroad.
I would like to thank the Board Members who went beyond the extra mile to protect the interest of the Rotary Club of Manila. Foreign grants are being negotiated with the Rotary Club of Shanghai, the Rotary Club of Singapore, and the Rotary District 3810. Expect more projects to be in the pipeline now that we can focus after we have filled the four slots for directors. Now, we can campaign for new memberships despite the pandemic. We can promote our Ambassador of Goodwill Program locally and to the world.
We are excited for PVP and Chair Hermie Esguerra of the RCManila Foundation. He can now implement his plans of action. The Council of Presidents led by PP Boy Guevara will be raising funds to augment the financial assistance we previously raised to cover employees and members who are in dire need.
We assure all our our members of our commitment to achieve more outreach programs to help the street children, collaborate with district projects, continue scholarships, engage with Rotaractors, seek grants, local or international, or both, increase the number of Paul Harris Fellows, continue our efforts for the Clean Water Act and Save Manila Bay, set policies on good governance, and implement the proposals of the Ethics Committee. We need your cooperation and support to make the Rotary Club of Manila, a club with the highest ethical standards. Let us defend and protect the club as we consider it our second home and a much revered institution in Asia and the world.
May the Almighty answer our prayers, dreams and aspirations.
Happiness is sharing and giving.
