Doing Good in the World

A past district governor thanks Rtn. Jed Dayang for helping the sister of a fellow Past President travel to Manila for her mother’s wake.

The mother of a Rotary Past President from another club died last week. The sister of this Past President is in Canada and wishes to come to Manila to be at the wake of her mom. However, she cannot come home per IATF rules as she had already acquired Canadian citizenship and was not able to avail of dual citizenship.

Last Friday, October 23, 2020, I called up Rtn. Jed Dayang and asked him if there is any way he can help the sister come to Manila. I knew it was a difficult request considering that we were headed towards the weekend.

Yesterday, October 25, 2020, I got a text message saying that the sister is now on her way to Manila.

Thank you Rtn. Jed. You are a miracle worker. It is difficult to put to words the joy you brought to their family...a family you don't even know. They are immensely grateful for your valuable assistance.

God bless you Rtn. Jed.
