Know Your Club Constitution, By-laws and Policies

Questions and answers on the objective and fund-raising oversight of the Ways & Means Committee and its access to membership dues, from the Code of Policies.

Q: What is the primary objective of the Ways & Means Committee of the club?

A: The following item in the Code of Policies is authoritative: “4.2.1.2 Ways & Means Committee The primary objective of the Ways & Means Committee is to plan and implement projects that will generate revenue to fund the Operational activities of RCM (General Fund).”

Q: Does the Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee have oversight of all fund raising activities of the club?

A: Yes. The Code of Policies provides the following: “4.2.1.2 Ways & Means Committee x x x The President of RCM will elect a Chairman of the RCM Ways & Means Committee that will oversee all fund raising activities of RCM.”

Q: Does the Ways & Means Committee have access to RCM Membership dues as a source of revenue?

A: The Code of Policies provides the following: “4.2.1.2 Ways & Means Committee x x x The Ways & Means Committee does not have access to RCM membership dues as a source of revenue and must generate revenue on a project-by-project basis.”
