The Paradox of Our Era

A Nuts N’ Balls column contrasting the abundance and distance of modern life with a prayer for caring, joy and contentment.

- We live in times when we see many humans, but not enough humanity;

- We live in times when the rich has more rooms than children while the poor has more children than rooms;

- We live in times when smart phones bring us closer to those afar, but distance us from those who are close by;

- We live in times when we open Facebook, more than The Holy Book;

- We live in times when a single mother can effectively look after her 10 children, but her 10 children can't agree as to who will look after their single mother;

- We live in times when the rich walk miles to digest food, while the poor walk miles in search for food;

- We live in times when our contact list keeps increasing, but our relationships continue to decline;

- We live in times when our possessions are more, but our appreciation is less;

- We live in times when we know how to earn a good living, but somehow forget how to live a good life;

- We live in times when many know the price of everything, but not the value of our many blessings;

Indeed, we are now living in a very strange world...May our good and merciful Lord God FORGIVE us all for the distorted thoughts of our time. Receive Love, give Love and be Love. Good morning and GOD BLESS YOU!

THERE IS ONLY ONE OF US. WE ARE ALL GOD-LOVING PEOPLE.

Almighty Father, remind us that our life shall be measured by the caring we have done for others, not by the years we have lived; by the joy we have shared, not by the things we have acquired; by the lives we have touched, not by the accolades we have been conferred with; by the contentment in our hearts, not by the wealth we have. Amen.

Good morning! A grace-filled weekend ahead! Keep safe!
