Q: Can Ex-Deals help in defraying the operational costs of RCM?
A: Yes. The following item in the Code of Policies is authoritative: “3.2.2.1.6 Ex-Deals Ex-Deals exist to assist in defraying and minimizing certain costs in the operations of RCM.”
Q: Are Ex-Deals encouraged? Are they subject to review by the Treasurer?
A: The following item in the Code of Policies is authoritative: “3.2.2.1.6 Ex-Deals x x x Ex-deals are not encouraged and should be reviewed by the Treasurer for financial prudence prior to submission to the RCM board for approval.”
Q: Is there a need to disclose conflicts of interest on Ex-Deals? Will non-disclosure result in cancellation of the deal contract? How many months advance notice is required of expiring Ex-Deals?
A: The following items in the Code of Policies are authoritative: “3.2.2.1.6 Ex-Deals x x x Any possible conflicts of interest must be disclosed to the RCM Board prior to any deal arrangement being approved. The absence of such declaration will result in cancellation of deal contract. The Secretariat is required to provide the Treasurer three (3) months advance notice of expiring Ex-Deals.”
