The Circle of Centennial Rotary Clubs
IPP Jackie Rodriguez recounts how the Rotary Club of Manila founded and led the Circle of Centennial Rotary Clubs and urges members to join the circle.
About two years ago, the Rotary Club of Manila, your club, founded and led the establishment of the Circle of Centennial Rotary Clubs (CCRC). The Ambassador of Goodwill Committee, a unique committee of our club that seeks to extend a hand of friendship to Rotary clubs worldwide, took the lead in the establishment of CCRC. With the great efforts of PD Nick Locsin, PDG Vince Carlos and the undersigned, together with the Rotary Club of Shanghai and the Rotary Club of Calcutta, the worldwide organization was completed with the Rotary Club of Manila taking the leadership as Chair of the Circle of Centennial Rotary Clubs.
This organization has now blossomed through managed growth with the entry of the Rotary Club of Washington DC handled by Rtn. Marvin and my son Rtn. Sean Rodriguez and the Rotary Club of Seattle, our mother club, as well as the applications of many more Rotary clubs worldwide such as the Rotary Club of Madrid handled by Rtn. Juan Montel, the Rotary Club of London handled by PD Nick Locsin and Rtn. Saumen Ray of the Rotary Club of Calcutta, the Rotary Club of Minneapolis handled by DE John Michael Cutter, the Rotary Club of Dublin handled by Rtn. Saumen Ray and the Rotary Club of Tokyo handled by PD Nick Locsin.
With a great leadership of the Ambassador of Goodwill Committee led by PDG Vince Carlos and PD Nick Locsin, I expect CCRC to have roughly about seventy (70) members within two (2) years and be a major factor of the Rotary Club of Manila’s continued growth and recognition as the world leader in the Rotary movement. Our ambassadors work very hard in pursuing relationships with other clubs and bringing our club to the heights it deserves as the first club in Asia as it continues its unique leadership and dynamic strength in fostering connectivity with the Rotary world.
The Rotary Club of Manila Ambassador of Goodwill Committee needs more RCM members to participate and help in its objectives. I urge all of you to find yourself a club you can connect to and thereby join the circle.
