Networking for You
PD Nick Locsin describes the Circle of Centennial Rotary Clubs and the club’s sister-club relationships.
When Rotary International declared that ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD, Champion President Jackie Rodriguez put into motion a plan to connect RCM to the world. By establishing an Ambassador of Goodwill Committee, he paved the way for RCM to effectively connect to Rotary clubs in our country and in our region. RCM has benefitted from the pioneering idea of President Jackie. We have moved farther and connected ourselves to clubs in the Indian subcontinent, in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. His initiatives led to the establishment of the Circle of Centennial Rotary Clubs.
This year Rotary International President Holger Knaack declared that ROTARY OPENS OPPORTUNITIES. Indeed, the CCRC, with RCM as a founding member and currently the leader of the organization, is an open door to opportunities. The CCRC provides RCM and its members an avenue to better friendships, to opportunities to achieve cooperative work in the spirit of Rotary and to a personal/business network for the benefit of every RCM member.
While the CCRC currently has three members, the Rotary Clubs of Manila, Shanghai and Calcutta, we will soon admit three new centennial clubs into our fold, the Rotary Clubs of Seattle 4, Madrid and Washington DC. Following them are more hundred years old and near hundred years old clubs desirous of joining the CCRC. This portends growth for the CCRC. It augurs well for more opportunities for us.
At this time, RCM also has seven active sister club relationships in Asia. These are the Rotary Clubs of Bangkok, Kowloon East, Guam, Osaka East, Seoul Muak, Singapore and Taipei. Altogether, we now have twelve international Rotary Clubs with whom we communicate with regularly and maintain strong friendship bonds with. All of these clubs present us with opportunities for friendship that seem nearly boundless.
Your club’s International Relations Committee (IRC) and the Ambassador of Goodwill Committee are tasked by our Board of Directors to maintain and strengthen our inter-club relationships. We are here to facilitate any connections/communications you may want to initiate with the clubs above-mentioned.
To further extend our international network of friends and co-Rotarians, we have asked our sister clubs (including the CCRC members) to share with us, and we will reciprocate by sharing with them, the list of clubs that we/they have relationships with. We feel confident that through our sister clubs, we can further expand our international network of friends. Any of our sister clubs will be more than glad to connect us to clubs in their own network.
On a final note, I wish to reiterate that your club’s International Relations Committee and our Ambassadors are here to serve our club and all individual members. If there is any assistance we can provide you with in connecting with our network of sister clubs, please do not hesitate to contact President Bobby, IPP Jackie, yours truly, or any of our Ambassadors (Director Johnny Chotrani, Rtn. Steve “Momo” Mommaerts, VP Thad Liamzon, Rtn. Warren So, DE John Cutter, STAR Rtn. Sean Rodriguez and several others). We remain active in regular meetings and club activities, as well as on club sponsored viber threads. Additionally, our secretariat has all our contact details.
The best of the Year of the Ox to all. Wishing all more fun and camaraderie in RCM. Thank you.
